Granite Park Chalet in Glacier National Park, Montana, is installing
expensive new outhouses to meet sanitation codes. While visiting one
of the current outhouses I looked up to see a counter attached to the
inside of the door used to register traffic. I was visitor 47.

POLICE BLOTTER

* In June a judge in Anderson, Ind., first set bail at $10,000 for
Virldeen Redmon, 67, who had been arrested for public
intoxication and driving with a suspended license. However, he
raised the bail to $100,000 when he saw Redmon's record: He
has been arrested nearly 400 times on alcohol charges since 1947,
had his driver's license suspended 33 times between 1947 and
1976, and had his license suspended "for life" in 1977. [Boston

PS: Issue #447 is coming up!

I am maintaining a site for the Philadelphia Trolley Coalition where
I have put lots of 47s. I give the time of when the page was revised
in a footer on every page. I got sick and tired of changing the time,
so I just change the date and keep the time 11:47:47.
Why? A bit of a homage to Star Trek and to add a bit of humour.
If you want to take a look it is at:
http://www.libertynet.org/~trolley/index.html

I am also responsible for yet another 47, the caption for a photo,
"NYCTA RTS II bus in the snow at 47th and Madison" at:
http://subway.k2nesoft.com/album/other.html
That one wasn't intentional, though.

Oh, no the phone number for my favorite Chineese resturant has a 47
in it! Ah! They are everywhere!

SEPTA Transit Museum Fact Sheet:
http://subway.k2nesoft.com/phila/pcc/septa.html
This page has 3 47s.
"Built in 1947. . . stands 47-feet long. . . It first operated May 11,
1947. . ."

They are everywhere!

OOPS!

* According to the San Jose Mercury News, the only injury from
the May 21 Calaveras earthquake (magnitude, 4.7) near San
Francisco was to Edvardo Meneses, 21, who thought the quake
was a break-in in his home. He grabbed his gun, and as he was
running up the stairs to protect his mother, he shot himself in the
leg. [San Jose Mercury News, 5-22-96]
